- An operating system is a type of software
True, you have to uninstall and update it onto your computer - Operating systems control the loading of software applications onto a computer
True, you can not open a program if the OS doesn't allow you to. - All operating systems offer user preferences allowing you to customize your computer
True, you can customise the code - An operating system Prioritizes the tasks that a CPU does.
True, it does this so that things can run faster and easier. - The following devices have an operating system: an Apple iPod, a Dell laptop, a Nintendo Wii.
True, all of these devices need a base system to run from.

How the Internet Works
1. What is the internet?
The internet is a wide area network, or WAN, and it is made of many smaller netowrks. Everything that goes online has to go through the internet. About 2.3 billion people are regular users of the worl's largest WAN, or the internet.
2. What is a protocol?
The rules for how computers communicate with each other in networks. 1969 is when the first network protocol was established, and the system was being used for the first e-mails.
3. What is DNS?
DNS stands for Domain Name Service, and it is critical to Internet communication. It is like the "phone book" of the internet.

Peripherals notes
Peripherals: devices used for computer input and output; mouse, monitor, keyboard, USB, printer, etc.
Keyboards: report each key press to a software program that interprets the keystrokes as binary digits. A keyboard also gives commands to computer operating systems.
Most mice use either optical or laser technology, there is also USB wireless optical mice and trackball mice.
Monitors are output devices, such as an LCD or CRT monitor
High-definition monitors have better resolution. A pixel (picture element) is the smallest colored dot that is displayed on the screen, so more pixels means more details. A standard resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels (width by height). High-def monitors have 1920 by 1080 pixels
Printers and scanners add value to systems. Many types of printers: inkjet, thermal, impact, laser
Many different drives: 3 1/2 inch floppy drive, CD-ROM drive, DVD drive, Blu-ray drive
External drives give users more storage options (external hard drive, DVD drive with laser light, USB drive
Tower cases have expansion bays. They usually have at least one bay for an optical drive such as DVD or Blu-ray. Different sizes and types of drives can all be loaded into the same tower case.

Is It a Valid Website?
I would have to say that the website http://zapatopi.net/afdb/ would not be a valid website. One of the reasons for this is because it was last updated over six years ago in 2008. There is also no evedence of an author or that it was made by any sort of profesional buisness, or anything professional at all. If you go toa ny of the links on the "external links" part of the page, they are all as un-kept and poorly designed as the main one. One last reason is that an "Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie" just doesnt seem like a ligit product.
ID Theft
Identity thefts can trick you into believing that your identity can be restored. If your bills are no longer coming to where you set them to be delivered then you should call the company right away and tell them that you think something suspicious is going on. If you think that your identity has been stolen, you should report it immediately.

Trends and Factors
What 3 trends do you see in computer evolution? AND Why?
The three most noticeable trends in computers are...
Size: Screens are getting bigger, (in this case) phones are getting thinner/lighter.
Efficiency: the reaction time for a computer to do a task is always improving
Technological Advances: Advancements help computers become more efficient, as well as create new, modern types of technology for the public (ex. Google Glass)
Efficiency: the reaction time for a computer to do a task is always improving
Technological Advances: Advancements help computers become more efficient, as well as create new, modern types of technology for the public (ex. Google Glass)
The reason for these trends is mostly for the general appeal of the public.
Name 3 factors that drive technological innovation?
It is the human mindset to make and create new things.
Humans are needy creatures.we are always in the need for new things.
Humans, who get very lazy, design computers so that they can do things for us.
